Scope
This policy applies to personal information we collect through the Service. It does not apply to third-party websites, employers, job boards, or services that we do not control, even if linked from Rezzymate or accessed through our extension or local agent. Those services have their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Rezzymate, we may collect:
- Account and identifiers: email address, account ID, authentication session tokens, and similar credentials. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we do not store plain-text passwords.
- Profile and contact information: name, phone number, location fields, and links you provide (such as LinkedIn, GitHub, or portfolio URLs).
- Career and knowledge content: work history, education, skills, projects, certifications, awards, languages, professional summaries, pasted notes, uploaded documents, and other materials you submit to build your knowledge base or resumes.
- AI and chat data: messages you send in chat, agent prompts and responses, and derived indexes such as text embeddings or knowledge chunks used for retrieval.
- Resume and job data: generated resumes, templates used, feedback you provide, saved job listings, job descriptions, application status, and related metadata.
- Local agent and extension data: if you pair a local agent or use the browser extension, we may store device identifiers, pairing codes, task instructions, task results, and profile fields needed to autofill forms on sites you choose to use it on. Browser automation may process page content on your device or through connected services to fulfill your requests.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, request timestamps, error logs, and similar diagnostic information used to operate and secure the Service.
We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation from GPS. Coarse location may be inferred from information you enter or from IP address.
Sources
We collect personal information from:
- You, when you register, complete profile or onboarding forms, upload files, chat with agents, or use resume and job features.
- Your browser, device, or local agent, when you use extension or automation features.
- Authentication and infrastructure providers that help us operate the Service.
- Third-party pages or APIs you ask us to fetch or interact with on your behalf (for example, a job posting URL).
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including AI-assisted resume generation and knowledge retrieval.
- Authenticate users, pair local agents, run background jobs, and store your content.
- Respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- Comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law.
AI processing
When you use AI features, we send relevant portions of your content to third-party AI providers to generate responses, embeddings, or other outputs. Those providers process data on our behalf according to their terms and our agreements with them. Do not submit information you are not comfortable having processed for this purpose.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and operate the Service. You can control cookies through browser settings, but some features may not work if you disable them.
Service providers
We share personal information with vendors that process it on our behalf to operate the Service, including providers of:
- Cloud hosting, databases, and file storage.
- Authentication and identity services.
- Background job and workflow infrastructure.
- AI and embedding model APIs.
- Document compilation or automation services, where used.
- Transactional email or communications tools, if enabled.
These providers are permitted to use personal information only as needed to deliver services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Service, and as required by law. If you delete your account or specific content, we will delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes. Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for the devices where you install our extension or local agent.
Your choices and rights
You may access, update, or delete much of your information through in-product settings. You may also request account deletion where offered. To submit a privacy request, contact us using the email above from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
California residents
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the CCPA to request access to specific personal information, deletion subject to exceptions, correction of inaccurate information, and details about our practices. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Other U.S. states
Residents of Washington, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights depending on eligibility. Use the same contact channel above.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International users
Rezzymate is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from other countries, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other locations where our service providers operate.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date. Where changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example, by email or in-product message).
